ONE FINE DAY FILMS, GÖHDE FOUNDATION, GERMAN-AFRICAN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (Afrika-Verein), RUSHLAKE MEDIA and the HEINRICH-BÖLL-STIFTUNG cordially invite you to the

1st German-African Symposium on Creative Economy & Cultural Entrepreneurship
in Berlin on 24 November 2016.

We are looking forward to an exciting, inspiring evening with you, dedicated to the creative and cultural exchange between Africa and Germany. In the first part of the program, together with our guests we would like to shed light on the potential of the cultural and creative industries of our neighboring continent, in order to intensify the creative and cultural exchange between Africa and Germany and to stimulate new African-German partnerships in the area of cultural and creative industries. We look forward to discovering together with you interesting projects as well as opportunities and prospects that enrich and promote the cultural exchange between our continents.

Since 2008, the film production company ONE FINE DAY FILMS, founded by Tom Tykwer and his wife Marie Steinmann, supports young filmmakers from Africa to realize their projects. Fascinating results have emerged, such as the feature film NAIROBI HALF LIFE, which was the first Kenyan contribution to the Oscars® in 2012. KATI KATI, the current production of ONE FINE DAY FILMS celebrated world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this fall where it was awarded with the FIPRESCI Prize by the International Association of Film Critics in the Discovery Program. The project work of ONE FINE DAY FILMS is just one example of how Africa and Germany can close ranks creatively and economically.
